Pop star, Ariana Grande has been putting her fans on hyper alert by teasing “The Light Is Coming,” featuring Nicki Minaj, since last month when she posted a snippet of the song and premiered it live in concert.
However, Ariana’s Arianators are definitely in for a bigger and juicer surprise as she announced that her forthcoming fourth studio album “Sweetener” will be released on Aug. 17 via Republic Records.
Produced by super-talented producer and singer, Pharrell Williams, “The Light Is Coming” infuses the bounce and vibe experienced in the N.E.R.D. track “Lemon” and sees Grande go all aggressive with some spicier and smoky-than-usual lyrics fans weren’t expecting.
“Ah, gonna break that shit down/You don’t wait until they wait another round/ Ah, guess you’re way above it now/And that’s your way to love it now,” she croons.
Ariana has also teased the Sweetener songs “R.E.M.,” “God Is A Woman” and “Raindrops” early this year, and released the album’s debut single “No Tears Left to Cry” in April.
Legendary American female rapper, Missy Elliott is also billed to appear on the album track “Borderline” and fans can expect to get a bombshell experience from the collabo.
In a bid to increase the hype surrounding the project, “Light” and previous single “No Tears Left to Cry” are offered as bonus downloads for fans who pre-order “Sweetener”, as from today.
