Governor of Minnesota Declares “Praise Adejo Day” in Honour of Nigerian Singer, Praiz
What could be better than having a day set aside in one of the states of the United States of America to honour you and your craft? We honestly can’t think of many such things off the top of our heads, so we can imagine just how elated and excited one of Nigeria’s favourite R&B songwriters and singers, Praiz, must be right now as he has just recently received such an honour.
Signed to X3M music records, Praiz – who, since emerging first runner up at the inaugural edition of Project Fame West Africa, has continued to thrill his fans across West African borders and beyond with smash hits such as ‘Rich and Famous’, ‘Sisi’, ‘Mercy’ and ‘Me and You’ – has obviously made a mark on a much wider audience than he might ever have perceived, as he was just recently honoured by the state of Minnesota in the United States Of America for excelling with his music.
The Governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton, yesterday declared every 6th of February “Praise Adejo Day” in celebration of Praiz’ many achievements in his stellar music journey so far.
The multi-award-winning Nigerian vocalist, as expected, couldn’t mask his joy as he took to Instagram to express his excitement at receiving this one-of-a-kind international honour.
The serial hit-maker had this to say:
HAPPY PRAIZ DAY ???❤ … And no it’s not my birthday ? #PraiseAdejoDay #minnesota #UnitedStstesOfAmerica #Nigerian #African #Greatness #twominutestheep
As much as this is a big score for Praiz (who we earnestly anticipate new music from as soon) it’s also a great step forward for Nigerian and even African music in general, as it goes to show the massive impact our music industry and its frontrunner are making far beyond our shores.
