2Baba, Mo Abudu & Others Accompany VP, Osinbajo To Hollywood
Nigerian Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has embarked on a working visit to Hollywood, the United States’ movie industry in a bid to preach the news of Nigeria’s growing film industry and of course get Hollywood to collaborate more with Nigeria’s Nollywood.
With him on the visit are media mogul, Mo Abudu, and legendary Nigerian singer, 2Face Idibia.
Speaking on the nature of the visit, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo said it was an “interactive investment forum with institutions and individuals in Hollywood.”
Speaking further, he said that: “Creativity and talent abound in Nigeria and we are open for business. I met with reps from Universal studios, Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, IMAX, Disney and a host of others.”
Other big Nigerian entertainment faces that were part of the Vice President’s entourage include: Terra Kulture founder, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Managing Director of Nigeria Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, Executive Director of Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Segun Awolowo, Executive Director of Bank of Industry, Tony Adeniji and Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, Dr. Dipeolu.
Nigeria’s Nollywood has been growing in leaps and bounds, rated third in the world behind the United States’ Hollywood and China’s Bollywood in terms of the number of films produced yearly, making it a choice destination for investors.
