Narrow Escape for Mayorkun After Vicious Attack

It was a narrow escape for DMW star and “Posh” hitmaker Mayorkun days back when some people alleged to be Yaba Tech student attacked the vehicles in his convoy and shattered the screens.

Mayorkun was heading home in a convoy of two cars (a Toyota Land Cruiser and a Mercedes Benz sedan) after a live performance at Yaba Tech, when people alleged to be students from the institution double-crossed him. The destruction of his vehicles followed.

He posted a video of the destruction online, calling Yaba Tech Students touts.  He wrote: “This is so fucked up! We got mobbed! YabaTech students are touts!”

Th.re has been no formal statement from the institution’s authorities about the incident. It is unlikely they would do so, since there has been no evidence that the people who destroyed both vehicles were indeed students of the institution.

Mayorkun, on his part, has not indicated he would sue anyone or seek redress in court. And, by the way, neither has Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), his record label. It is unlikely they would take legal action.

The important thing to the artiste at the moment is in having escaped death in the mob attack. He is also looking forward to his next Mayor of Lagos concert, coming up December 14 at Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
