Duncan Mighty Lashes Out at Magnito Over “Genevieve” Song Credits

They collaborated on “Genevieve” about a week ago and all was supposedly good in the public eye, the relationship between Duncan Mighty and Magnito, two famous names in Nigerian music.

The music video for “Genevieve” dropped about a day ago. The release of the video almost coincides with Duncan Mighty’s going public and accusing Magnito of not giving him credit for work done.

In a recent Instagram post, Duncan Mighty lamented that Magnito sent a beat that had no chorus or pattern and asked him to work on it. And he did, fine-tuning the beat into something magnificent. But then, according to him, Magnito cut him off by singing the part he (Duncan Mighty) was supposed to sing.

“Why inviting me the shoot when you know this is what you will end up doing?” he asked in the said post. He had, after all, flown in to Lagos for the shoot. He mentioned rapper Bracket as one who had treated him similarly in the past.

However, he still referenced other rappers he had collaborated with in Nigeria’s music industry who had given him due credit, rappers like Davido, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage.
