Mejja drops new song
Celebrated Kenyan artist Mejja has released a new jam dubbed ‘Tabia za wa Kenya’.
‘Tabia za wa Kenya’ which is a Swahili phrase translating to ‘Behavior of Kenyans’, is a Genge song through which Mejja highlights the diverse Kenyan culture in a creative and hilarious way.
Sticking to his special narration style, Mejja starts the jam with one of the most popular phrases about how Kenyans have a talent in predicting the weather; they insist that the hot sun indicates that it’s about to rain.
The visuals which were directed by Ricky Bekko, are simplistic, and take us through the life of a normal Kenyan citizen from Mejja’s perspective.
Some of the highlights in this jam include accurate capturing of normal exchange between buyers and sellers as well as the lies that netizens tell when it comes to lending and receiving money from our friends.
‘Tabia za wa Kenya’ has been received well by netizens who praised Mejja for celebrating our Kenyan culture.
The jam released on Tuesday has over 68,000 views on YouTube.
