Solidstar Says Goodbye to Achievas Entertainment for Good

The rumours of a split between artist and record label have hovered like dark clouds above since 2014 with speculations and counter speculations. These rumours were especially fuelled when the singer announced his own label, Badass Music, and even referred to newcomer Jojo as his artiste.

We can however confirm that these speculations are no longer mere rumours as Nigerian Dancehall superstar, Solidstar, recently bid his former record label, Achievas Entertainment, farewell after being in business for a whopping 10 years.

The ‘Oluchi’ crooner made the following (notably amicable) announcement on his Instagram page to that effect:

“I Joshua Iniyezo aka Solidstar, wish to use this opportunity to thank my former label Achievas Ent for being there for me over 10 years. Words cannot express how grateful I am, Special S/O to @ossyachievas @colepeter my bosses and the entire team for having my back. You are still my family even as I begin another chapter career wise. #Shaba!”

After Solidstar’s Instagram reveal, the record label, Achievas Entertainment, confirmed that both parties indeed parted ways peaceably.

Their release read thus:

“We wish to hereby inform the public that Achievas Entertainment has ended its contract agreement with musician, Solidstar.

“The two parties reached a mutual decision to end the contract after working for over 10 years together. All previous recording audios, music videos, albums of the singer remain property of Achievas Entertainment. We wish him all the best as he starts a new life.

“Signed,

Solidstar’s ardent fans would recall that the artiste who released his debut album in 2010 came into the spotlight after the release of his hit single, ‘One in a Million’, featuring the highly revered 2Baba. The father of one, who also collaborated with a number of industry heavyweights while signed with his now estranged record label, released two successful albums – ‘One In A Million’ (2010) and ‘W.E.E.D.’ (2016) under the Achievas Entertainment umbrella.

We can only anticipate the next steps Solidstar takes with his enviable career this year, and wish him the very best as he moves on.
