“I’m Recording a New Album” – Wizkid Reveals

It’s barely 10 days into 2018 and, from the look of things, Nigerian-born international Afrobeat sensation, Wizkid, is going to be in the news a whole lot , and for all the right reasons.

The average Nigerian music enthusiast can attest that Wizkid is on fire. The StarBoy boss, whose Coachella 2018 appearance slated for April is ostensibly the most anticipated event right now on the Nigerian music scene, and whose historic sold-out Royal Albert Hall Performance in London was documented by the popular entertainment outfit, Boiler Room TV, seems to have his sights clearly set on a much more successful 2018 than we can imagine, considering the massive year 2017 was for the reigning MOBO Best International Act.

In the spirit of staying on top of the the game – something Wizkid seems to do rather effortlessly – the superstar has just released information on social media that will no doubt be music to the ears of his millions of die-hard fans.

The ‘Sweet Love’ crooner revealed yesterday, to the surprise of quite a few people, that his next album is already very much in the works. He made the big reveal in response to a fan who asked what to expect from the Star Boy this year.

It does seem like the superstar –who had his hit songs such as ‘Show You The Money’, ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, and ‘Daddy Yo’ played to the audience’s delight by Canadian rapper, Drake, at the recently held Golden Globes After Party where the rapper played the DJ role – would be thrilling audiences at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival with some brand new bangers.

We can’t wait to see what masterpieces Wizkid comes through with on his next body of work. Will it be the best offering the 27-year-old father of three has put out so far in his already stellar music career? We think that’s very possible.
