LIRS Pursues Falz Over Personal Income Tax
The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, LIRS just delivered a letter to one of Nigeria’s finest rappers, Falz The Bahd Guy, asking him to remit his personal income tax for the calendar year.
The “La Fête“ sensation and Bahd Guy Entertainment anchorman took to several social media platforms to inform fans the LIRS were on his heels and expressed displeasure the chase is coming so early in the year. Falz whose real name is Folarin Falana accompanied a post with an image of the letter that reads:
“LIRS won’t let someone even start the year well before sending letter, Na wa oo”
Falz who is the son of legal luminary, Femi Falana, enjoyed a glorious 2017 in the entertainment industry with several hit songs to match the eventual birth of his widely-accepted surprise “27th“ album, which dropped on his 27th birthday.
Plus, with the massive success of his Falz Experience concert, it isn’t much of a surprise the taxman is pushing to get a slice of the cake off the Barrister turned wordsmith.
Do you think other musicians including Wizkid, Davido and Olamide who made fortunes off the circuit should also be getting letters from the LIRS as the comical rapper?
