Reekado Banks’ Manager Remanded in Kirikiri over N2M Debt Refund Scandal
Remember we brought you news, a few days ago, about Reekado Banks and his manager, being in some major police trouble because they failed to refund a performance fee of two million naira, which was paid by a soon-to-be-wed couple for the Mavin Superstar to perform at their wedding which Reekado never showed up for?
Well, we have an update on that scandalous story, and it’s even messier now.
The latest development is that Temioluwa Solomon, Reekado’s brother as well as his manager, has been arrested and arraigned by the police before an Ikeja court, and subsequently remanded in Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison. This occurred on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.
‘How did things escalate so quickly?’ you might ask. Here’s what happened.
Reports have it that the ‘Easy Jeje’ singer and his manager had been given an ultimatum by the Police to refund the couple the full performance fee of two million naira that was paid through comedian, Uwa Igbinedion, since the artiste failed to show up.
Reekado and his manager, Temioluwa, have however still not refunded the said amount, citing logistic costs incurred as their excuse.
Consequently, the 24 year old hit-maker and his brother were invited to the Ogba Area G police station in Lagos regarding the case, but the superstar reportedly failed to honour the invitation by not showing up, even after countless invitations by the police.
This development apparently irked the couple, who are still waiting for a complete refund of their money, as well as the police, whose invitations have gone unhonoured, and has thus further aggravated the already bad situation
It is as a result of this that Temioluwa has now been arraigned before the court and remanded at Kirikiri. The case has been adjourned until the 19th of February 2018. Hopefully, Reekado Banks shows up and clears this mess up before it escalates any further.
