Davido Set To perform At Jay-Z’s ‘Made in America’ Music Festival
Nigerian pop icon and serial hitmaker, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido is billed to perform at US music mogul, Jay-Z’s “Made in America” Music Festival.
The “IF” hitmaker’s participation was made known after the official line up for the event was announced.
This is a great milestone achievement for O.B.O as he gets to share the stage alongside American superstars such as Janelle Monae, Canadian rapper, Nicki Minaj and Post Malone.
This is not the first time a Nigerian music star will be performing at the Music Festival. Rather, from the look of things, this is the first time Nigerian artistes would be invited to the festival in two consecutive years.
In 2017, Nigerian music stars, Tiwa Savage, Maleek Berry and Wizkid were invited to perform at the Music Festival, which saw Wizkid notably absent from the festival, while the first two made it.
This announcement is coming after it was reported that Wizkid raked in about 300 million Naira from his recently held music concert (Afrorepublik Festival) at the 02 Arena in London.
It is not yet clear how much Jay-Z’s team will be paying Davido. However, we can assume that he’ll be paid a substantial amount since his 30 Billion Concert was named the highest-grossing concert in Nigeria, which saw him make half a billion Naira.
The concert is scheduled to hold on the 1st to the 2nd of September at Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, US.
