Vogue Magazine Names Wizkid “The Hottest Pop Star In Africa”
Who wears the crown of the hottest Pop star in Africa? The competition has been fierce, and even opinions have been divided. Some people down home in Nigeria would tell you that Davido and Wizkid are the major contenders.
Well, Vogues magazine has just put an end to the debate in a tweet. The tweet reads: “.@wizkidayo—currently Africa’s hottest pop star by almost any measure—has unveiled his new capsule collection. Get an inside look here.”
Vogue Magazine is one of the oldest magazines in the world. Founded almost 200 years ago, it sets the narrative for fashion, music, and celebrity zeitgeist not just in the United States but around the world.
The magazine scored another plus this month as it featured Beyoncé, America’s legendary songstress and a person of colour, in its September 2018 cover, the second time since her 2015 debut.
The declaration of Wizkid as Africa’s hottest Pop star should not surprise anyone, after all his song “Soco” is already one of the most searched words on Google.
Although Wizkid shared Vogue Magazine’s tweet about him being the hottest Pop star in Africa, he did so without comment.
This newest star on Wizkid’s crown will surely go a long way and keep the artiste on his musical toes.
For now we await the release of his “Made in Lagos” album October 1.
