Meek Mill & Drake Smoke the Peace Pipe

Meek Mill & Drake Smoke the Peace Pipe

The joys of brotherhood and amity can never be underestimated. When the strings of amity and brotherhood are broken, bitterness and malice result.

They call it beef. They call it whatever. It is a cinch no one truly enjoys it. You may ask rappers Meek Mill & Drake.

The beef between the duo began in 2015, exactly 3 years ago, when Meek Mill took to Twitter to claim that Drake’s songs were actually ghost-written, and that Drake cannot be compared to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.

Drake didn’t find that funny, and he released a diss track directed at Meek Mill, titled “Charged Up,” and followed it up with another titled “Back to Back” when Meek wouldn’t stop.

Peace seemed to have been in the works earlier this year when Drake  wore a t-shirt in support of Meek on stage though without publicly saying anything about the beef with Meek.

However, over the weekend in Boston, during his concert for the song “Dreams and Nightmares,Drake invited Meek Mill on stage and the duo shook hands and performed together.

After the show, Drake took to his Instagram page to express his relief at the beef being finally over. He wrote:

This really gave me peace of mind tonight. Healing and moving forward created one of the most electric and gratifying moments of my career. @meekmill I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose ???? (Cue the Kevin Garnett “anything is possible” adlib)

He wouldn’t be the only one to be relieved at the restoration of amity. Millions of fans across the globe are in the same train.

Meek Mill himself is, fo he uploaded the same image Drake posted on Instagram. Meek Mill had this caption for it: “MEEK MILL X @champagnepapi WE BOTH HAPPY AS SHITTT! ??

This is good news for world music.
