Over time, death has been called a bad reaper going for the unripe fruit. When we realize that South Africa has lost two music titans within the past four months, we understand better the truth in that statement.

The most recent death was that of Jabulani HHPTsambo, the “M.O (Maftown Original)” mastermind. Apparently South Africans are not the only ones in mourning. Down here in Nigeria, “Agidi” crooner D’Banj is also in grief.

The “Tongolo” hitmaker, who had earlier hinted at preparing to release the singles “Shake It,” featuring Mavin Records’s songstress Tiwa Sava, and “Something 4 Something,” featuring HHP’s countryman Cassper Nyovest, has shelved the idea until next week, to honour HHP.

The late HHP

D’Banj announced the postponement via his Instagram page in the following words:“Rest in perfect peace my brother HHP . ?. All releases postponed till next week to Mourn and Honor Our Legend.”’

He also uploaded a video of him and HHP and recalled how he and HHP were nominated for the MTV Europe Awards 11 years. It seemed like yesterday, D’Banj recalled wistfully.

HHP’s family has announced his burial would take place tomorrow Saturday 3 November at HHP’s hometown in Mahikeng.

However, HHP’s wife Lerato Sengadi has got a court interdict stopping the burial. She is claiming as HHP’s customary she should be the one to make arrangements for his burial and other proceedings but that HHP’s family has excluded her and even barred her from the funeral.
