It’s a huge win for Nigerian singer, Tekno following his appearance as the only Nigerian artiste listed on music streaming platform, Pandora‘s list of 2019 Artists to Watch.
Tekno who earlier this month dropped “You Can Get It” in collaboration with 2Kingz has been one of the most consistent faces in Nigerian music but this year has seen him conquer new grounds and take on a whole different form, combining his music with the business.
Earlier this year, his song “Jogodo” placed him squarely in the middle of a controversy with veteran singers, Taxi Drivers who called him out about ‘stealing’ their song. He had approached the duo and ironed the issues out with a collab coming weeks after that.
It wasn’t the first time the “Pana” crooner would diffuse a difficult situation. There was that time he had an issue with Wizkid online and rather than escalate issues, he chose to sue for peace and calm. This has won him a lot of fans already and the talented singer will be delighted with this new addition to his feather.
2019 looks pregnant with a lot of news but for Tekno who made this list alongside two other Africans J.S. Ondara from Kenya and Jamaican Shenseea, it’s looking good for him already. We can’t wait to see him live up to the hype and continue to strut his stuff on the music front in 2019.
