Police Shut Down Naira Marley’s Dublin Show Due to Gang Fights
And it’s more controversy for the in-form Naira Marley after news emerged that the police in Dublin shut down the venue of his show over what it described as ‘gang violence’.
According to reports, people had gathered at the venue for the show before the police came around and asked everyone to leave, saying they were shutting down the venue over gang violence.
According to those present though, they didn’t witness any violence or fight and did not know why the police had to do that and quite a number of them gave a piece of their mind even as they demanded a refund from the organizers.
The response from the police said that they are “investigating an incident where a large number of male youths congregated outside a premises on Adam Court, Dublin 2 at approximately 1am on 7 July 2019.”
According to the statement, “A number of offensive weapons were located after the youths departed and were seized by Gardaí. One male in his early 20s was arrested and was charged in relation to this offence. Investigations are ongoing.”
Naira Marley has been in the news since his opinion on internet fraud landed him in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. After his release, his “Soapy” song and dance have generated controversies too and this can only add to it.
