Mbuzeni Set to collaborate with Rihanna

Things are getting better for South African music star, Mbuzeni Mkhize after he was invited by American singer, Rihanna to record a song with her.

Mbuzeni Mkhize first caught the attention of the US music star after he posted his cover of Rihanna‘s “Diamonds” hit song in April last year and while the praises have not stopped, Rihanna has now taken things further and wants to work with him.

Mbuzeni has developed a unique Maskandi sound that has won him a lot of followers and even got him a SAMA nomination. He has been in the industry for 10 years and has done just fine, but this one is a new high for him that is capable of placing him head over shoulders above his peers in the industry.

Reacting to the development, Mbuzeni wrote: “Rihanna could have chosen any person to work with her. But she chose me out of hundreds of maskandi artists. For that, I am honored and humbled. I thank my ancestors for the gift [of singing]. This is a big thing for South Africa and for maskandi as a whole. This shows that my music is taken seriously wherever I perform.”

He is due to start the recording in the US by December and we congratulate him for this amazing new stride. Drop your congratulations in the comment section.
