Watch: Wizkid Reveals How He Got Davido to Perform with Him at 2017 Lagos Concert
Even though it’s now common knowledge that Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Davido are now not only ardent fans of each other’s music but also best of friends, not many people seem to understand at what point the two Nigerian music industry heavyweights buried the hatchet.
The critically-acclaimed Starboy head honcho Wizkid has however revealed in a recent interview how he was the one who reached out to Davido and invited him to perform at his end of 2017 show, #WizkidTheConcert.
It would be recalled that the DMW boss, Davido, made a surprise appearance at the said concert last year, throwing the audience into a frenzy as he and Wizkid stunned everyone present with a joint performance of epic proportions which the Nigerian entertainment stratosphere just couldn’t get enough of.
The appearance was particularly significant as, up until that moment, there seemed to exist some major beef between the two industry bigwigs who were in the habit of coming for each other’s throats on social media.
Wizkid however revealed in this interview that much of what fans saw on social media between Davido and himself was merely for the sake of hype.
Emphasizing once more that he and Davido have a great relationship between them, Wizkid further stated that what really matters to him is being able to put food on his table and ensure that everyone around him ultimately succeeds at what they do.
