Kach: Nigerian Minister’s Son Joins Ubi Franklin’s Record Label TripleMG
Rising hip-hop star and self-acclaimed Afrotrap pioneer Kach is the newest addition to Ubi Franklin’s TripleMG! He joins a team of talented artists including “Panama” crooner –Tekno, Selebobo, Ellyman and Rogerlino already signed to the record label.
Kach was welcomed to MMMG by Franklin via a post on his Instagram post on Thursday, May 10. Ubi Franklin now co-owns MMMG with show promoter, Paul Okoye, after parting ways with Iyanya Mbuk, an artiste and former co-owner, who later joined Mavin Records.
Kach is the second son of Ibe Kachikwu, the Nigerian Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). He gained popularity after the successful release for his smash hit single ‘Dino’ – where Kogi West senator Dino Melaye made a cameo appearance in the video.
In the last couple of years, Kach has released over six singles and shot a couple of videos. In 2015, the talented artist wowed the audience with his song, “Get Up” at the Glo CAF Awards 2015 sharing a stage with legendary musician King Sunny Ade, Salif Keita and D’banj.
The University of Bath graduate made his debut in 2014 with the release of his mix tape titled, “After Hours”, followed by “Tension” and “Get Up” both produced by popular producer, Sarz. Riding hot on the heels of success, the multi-talented artiste has gone on to release smashing hit singles like “Olo” and “Odana,” with the former making it to the “Top 10 African Videos Chart on Trace TV” and other music chart shows.
Kach is one fast-rising artiste to watch out for in 2018, as he is set to leave his creative imprints in our minds in 2018 and beyond.
