Olamide Disagrees With Davido Over “We Rise By Lifting Others” Mantra

It would be recalled that DMW boss and Afro pop icon, Davido turned heads at the recently held Headies Awards where he advised other successful Nigerian artistes to help lift the upcoming ones. According to him, “we rise by lifting others”.

However, YBNL boss, Olamide, begs to differ. The ‘Wo” hitmaker has come out to state that he is not in that club yet.

Olamide & Davido on the set of “The Money”

Olamide made this revelation via his Instagram page, where he talked about cutting ones coat according to its size.

The YBNL frontman stated that a cheerful giver would never have savings and even went ahead to use Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man to back up his claims.

He reiterated that Aliko Dangote could have distributed his wealth with Nigerians to solve the problem of economic hardship but that would not only leave the billionaire poor, but also unable to achieve his current status on Africa’s richest man rankings.

This claim from Olamide is a far cry from that of Davido’s whose mantra has always been to admonish successful people, especially artistes, to help those in the lower echelon to rise to the top. Olamide’s perspective is contradictory as he looks at it from an economic point of view.

He is of the opinion that if one must render help to others, there must be provision for oneself.

What do you make about Olamide’s latest opinion? Do you think he might be right, or is Davido actually correct? Let us know your thoughts via the comments section below.
