Thereafter Kanye West took to social media to boast about his powers as an artiste. In the video he posted, he declared his music the best in the world and himself as the best recording artiste. He stated that he is the best because the spirits of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti and reggae  legend Bob Marley live in him.

In a swift reaction, Seun Kuti, a musician himself and one of Fela’s sons, dismissed Kanye West’s words. His words: “Erm erm on behalf of the Kuti family , I want to state that the spirit of Olufela Anikulapo Kuti isn’t anywhere near Kanye West. @ziggymarley over to you. ?????? @oldmanebro come get ur boi before I #getthesax.

Indirectly, Kanye West’s words are affirmation of Fela’s powers as an artiste. He may have died decades ago, but he lives in the consciousness of good vibes across the globe.
