Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have just been granted bail. The two artistes were arraigned before Magistrate Isaac Ado for breaching public peace. They both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were bailed according and the case adjourned to June 20.

 Both were arrested following a scuffle at the award night of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) held at the Accra International Convention Centre on 18 May. Just after his release, Shatta Wale had dropped a song titled “God Is Alive.

Both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were nominees for the VGMA in the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year category. On the award night, when Stonebwoy was announced winner, Shatta Wale and his team members had allegedly climbed on the stage.

This led to a scuffle between the teams of both artistes, with Stonebwoy allegedly pulling a shotgun on Shatta Wale. He has since apologized for his actions. But that did not preempt his arrest, alongside Shatta Wale, for breaching public peace.

The police had issued a statement thereafter, stating: “The police in no uncertain terms condemn the disturbance and assure the public and fans that it will handle the case with the needed attention it deserve.”
